About Research Operations at BILL

The BILL Operations team focuses on enabling customer centric decision making across our Product, Design and Research organizations.  This role reports into Research Operations and is focusing on supporting our teams to do the best work of their life. Research Operations partners heavily with our Research team and leaders to empower research to happen at all levels across the Product Organization.

Role:

For the Senior Research Operations Program Manager, we need a specialist with one foot in operations and the other in research.  This role will support a growing research and operations practice who are bringing quality research practices to Design and Product teams.  This person will excel in building relationships across a large, matrixed organization.  They will dig deep to define problem spaces.  Then they will think wide to develop solutions, programs, and ways of working that work for our entire product organization.  This person will be an experimenter, knowing that piloting and making changes is necessary for a growing organization to find the right solutions and be successful.  They will take the strategic direction that leadership in Research and Operations gives and execute.

This role will work lock step with Product Research, focusing on bringing quality research practices into Design and Product.  They will identify areas where self-service research models can be enacted.  They will also work closely with Research Operations to determine program metrics and decision making criteria for programs. They will curate a training module(s) strategy for non-researchers and work instructions where necessary.  They will create feedback loops and ensure we are continuously improving research program operations for our Research, Design and PM partners.  

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • 5 years of direct UX or Digital Product Research practitioner experience with a heavy emphasis on operations (vendor management, setting up usability labs or other research programs, organizing research results, etc.) or
  • Demonstrated excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated proactive communications skills
  • Experience building programs that bring research execution into Product and Design organizations
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills - you encounter roadblocks and you use your knowledge and social capital to work through these
  • Attention to detail: Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure high degree of accuracy/completeness and early/on-time delivery
  • Demonstrated organizational skills : You plan, implement, and monitor assignments effectively to meet the needs of the business
  • Relationship Management : Builds and sustains partnerships across organizational boundaries and functions, as well as, outside the organization to achieve common goals and outcomes
