This role will join our Finance and Accounting Team in Boston. The role will be responsible for accurate revenue recognition according to GAAP standards, as well as maintaining and reconciling accounts. This role will interact and coordinate with members of Finance, Sales, and Legal departments to ensure that all software license and professional services agreements are recorded in compliance with applicable external revenue recognition guidance and internal company policies. This position will play a key role in identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices. This role reports to the Associate Director, Revenue Accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly preparation, review, analysis, and reconciliation of assigned revenue-related accounts
  • Prepare and book journal entries across multiple companies in multiple currencies
  • Maintain and improve revenue schedules, ensuring proper GAAP accounting treatment
  • Assist with streamlining current processes and controls within revenue accounting
  • Assist with the implementation of key process areas related to ASC 606 (adopted in 2017), including revenue recognition changes, commission capitalization, and disclosure requirements.
  • Work closely with FP&A department to support monthly and quarterly management reporting and flux analyses for multiple revenue streams
  • Work with cross-functional groups, (including Legal, Billings, InfoSys, Sales, and Client Support) to support and enhance contracting, billing and revenue recognition processes and controls that accomplish sales and business objectives while maintaining compliance with revenue recognition requirements
  • Prepare schedules for annual external audit and respond to inquiries from external auditors
  • Assist in maintaining documentation and compliance of internal control policies
  • Develop knowledge of Eze Software Group’s business and GAAP accounting to serve as a technical resource for others within the company
  • Maintain professional and positive business relationships with internal and external customers and solicit information as needed to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Perform special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis, as required
  • Responsibilities may extend to non-revenue accounts, as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or high-growth software technology company strongly preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
  • Must have knowledge of GAAP revenue recognition principles; knowledge of software industry and SaaS revenue accounting a plus.
  • Experience with foreign currencies and international operational issues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX, NetSuite and similar ERP’s not required, but is a plus
  • Salesforce.com experience preferred
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Readiness to embrace and successfully drive/implement change, with ability to apply practical solutions and navigate through ambiguity
  • Team player; comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and able to be flexible and collaborate with team on different projects and needs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Travel:

This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight
