Expected Base Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year depending on qualifications
Bonus Eligibility: Yes, discretionary bonuses

Kruze Consulting provides accounting, bookkeeping, finance, payroll, and tax services to over 800 startups backed by top tier venture capital funds. The Senior Technical Accounting Specialist provides expert knowledge and guidance on complex accounting issues, ensures compliance with accounting principles, and implements and maintains accounting policies and procedures. We’re looking for someone with experience in all aspects of revenue recognition to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to complex business transactions. NEED TO HAVE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's Degree required (strong preference for major in accounting)
· 5+ years of corporate accounting experience
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, principles, and practices in the areas of ASC 605 and 606: Revenue Recognition
· Experience in utilizing Revenue platforms and Revenue Recognition systems such as Stripe and Synder and recommending and assisting with the implementation of these systems.
· Proficiency in research methodologies for data analysis and providing actionable recommendations.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Must be willing to work core business hours in their local time zone (approximately 8am to 5pm local time)
· Meticulous attention to detail – able to follow through/execute on a high volume of nuanced tasks
· Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced setting with a wide variety of tasks
· A love of rapidly changing technology/software solutions that maximize efficiency and deliver firmwide value
NICE TO HAVE/POSITION PREFERENCES:
· Experience in a big 4, national, or regional accounting firm
· Experience with software, SaaS, tech-enabled services, or other recurring revenue business models
· Experience in a fully remote people-centric culture
· Experience in a high growth/startup/entrepreneurial environment
· Experience with tech-forward accounting platforms such as Expensify, Bill.com, and Gusto
· Experience with newer systems/platforms such as Slack, Zendesk, 1Password, Airtable, Box, Kantata, Loom and many others (we are always exploring and embracing new systems as part of our DNA!)
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Technical Accounting Guidance: (40% of the time)
· Assist Account Managers and Controllers with their revenue-related questions and requests.
· Meet with clients to answer their Revenue related questions and help them with related projects.
· Conduct technical accounting research to address accounting inquiries and propose solutions based on relevant accounting standards.
· Evaluate the accounting implications of proposed contracts, agreements, or transactions.
Accounting Policy Development: (30% of the time)
· Research and analyze new accounting standards, regulations, and pronouncements.
· Assess the impact of new standards on the organization and develop appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
· Monitor emerging accounting issues and provide recommendations on their adoption or application.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: (25% of the time)
· Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, providing documentation and explanations on technical accounting matters.
· Identify potential financial reporting risks and recommend appropriate controls and procedures to mitigate risks.
· Participate in the implementation and improvement of financial reporting systems and processes.
Other (5% of the time)
· Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
· Support the implementation of new accounting systems or upgrades, collaborating with IT and finance teams.
· Participate in special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, or financial system implementations, providing technical accounting expertise.
WHAT YOU WON’T BE DOING:
· Kruze’s own corporate finance. That’s handled by our CFO.
