This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Safety Officer in the United States.
This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of personnel on complex field projects, including hazardous environments, confined spaces, and mission-critical installations. The Senior Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of safety plans, conduct site inspections, and provide training to project teams. This position requires hands-on engagement at project sites, monitoring adherence to OSHA standards, and serving as a trusted safety advisor across multiple assignments. The ideal candidate will produce detailed safety reports, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with engineers, operational leaders, and government personnel to maintain a secure and compliant work environment. This is a highly visible role that combines technical expertise, leadership, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety plans and training programs for project personnel.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety standards.
  • Serve as the on-site safety authority, monitoring work in hazardous, confined, or high-risk environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to evaluate and mitigate risks during project execution.
  • Produce and maintain detailed safety incident reports, documentation, and metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Advise project teams on best practices, compliance requirements, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure work sites are maintained in safe, clean, and compliant conditions, including post-project restoration.
  • Requirements:
  • Technical BA/BS degree or equivalent; high school diploma/associate degree with 10+ years of safety leadership experience considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Safety Officer, Lead, or Manager, preferably supporting DoD or network modernization projects.
  • OSHA certification, Construction Safety 30-Hour Training, Confined Space Training, and First Aid certification required.
  • Secret security clearance required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong documentation, compliance discipline, and the ability to operate in high-security, mission-critical environments.
