Senior Site Reliability Engineer

ESG solutions enable investors to develop and integrate responsible investing policies and practices, engage on responsible investment issues, and monitor portfolio company practices through screening solutions. It also provides climate data, analytics, and advisory services to help financial market participants understand, measure, and act on climate-related risks across all asset classes. In addition, ESG solutions cover corporate and country ESG research and ratings enabling its clients to identify material social and environmental risks and opportunities.

Data Desk is an analytics platform for institutional investors to analyze their portfolios with regards to environmental, social, and governance criteria. As a Site Reliability Engineer on the Data Desk team, you will help us empower our internal and external users with a rich feature set, high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions. You will work closely with our development teams, product management, application management, and QA to build and ship software and systems using the newest technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Work with Kubernetes to expand our deployment capabilities for micro services.
• Expand our application monitoring using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Ensure all micro services are feeding into log indexing tools and infrastructure.
• Write code to contribute to our build automation and growing suite of operational tools.
• Enhance the reliability of our services by contributing to projects where you will create Docker Containers and manage them using Kubernetes.
• Partner with dev ops teams to learn and execute key operational tasks.
• Expand our document library for operational tasks and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience programming in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
• Experience troubleshooting large-scale systems.
• Excited about software reliability engineering, software development, and eager to learn.
• Good team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems.

Preferred Skills

• Proficient with Git
• Proficient with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration systems like Docker and Kubernetes
