How you can help make a better world of work

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Culture Amp you will play a key role in our efforts to improve the scalability and reliability of our platform. Our customer base has been growing at an incredible pace, and with that comes more simultaneous users, more data sitting in our storage layer and more microservices. The mission of the SRE practice is to ensure that our infrastructure can accommodate this growth without compromising on system reliability or the user experience.

As part of our SRE Enablement team, your mission will be to support and enable product teams in building and maintaining Culture Amp. We provide patterns and tools to remove roadblocks and make things easier and better for product teams. The SRE Enablement team is currently partnered with the SRE Foundations team, building a new platform for service delivery whilst driving the adoption of this new technology within Culture Amp, with a goal to accelerate all product engineering.

As part of the Central SRE Enablement team, you will:

  • Work in a team dedicated to SRE
  • Balance tactical support to teams with strategic evolution of patterns and tools
  • Own engagements with product teams to uplift skills and facilitate outcomes
  • Drive internal projects in the team to evolve tooling and patterns for building services
  • Help onboard and upskill more junior engineers
  • Receive mentoring and support from the practice and team leadership

About you

  • You are empathetic to the pain points product teams face in building stuff in scaling organisations. You have experience with the challenges that come with running production services at scale.
  • You are confident in running important stuff on AWS. You have experience writing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code.
  • You are an excellent communicator. You are comfortable pairing and are energised by opportunities to teach and coach.
  • You are proficient at writing software. We currently code in Go, TypeScript, Ruby, Kotlin and Java, knowledge of any of these is a bonus!
  • You can demonstrate how software engineering principles (such as SOLID) are practically implemented.
