Senior Squad Manager

Day Shift: Monday-Friday (Weekdays)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Deepwatch Squad Director, the Senior Squad Manager oversees the day shift operations of a security operations squad that delivers excellence in managed detection and response, vulnerability management, endpoint protection and firewall management services for our US-based enterprise customers.  As a remote-first company, the role can be based anywhere in the US or work from one of our Security Operations Centers in Tampa, FL or Denver, CO.    

In this role, you will have ownership for the following:

  • Leadership & Management. Lead a team of remote-based Security Analysts, Vulnerability Engineers, Firewall Engineers, Detection Engineers, Endpoint Engineers and Lead Analysts and manage hiring, staffing projections, shift assignments, holiday and high volume coverage, and performance management.
  • Service Level Agreement Metrics.  Ensure the SLA and quality metrics in our customer agreements are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Coach & Escalation.  Deliver cyber security expertise to members of your squad, coaching them on technical and team oriented tactics and practices, providing expert insight into the challenges they may encounter in the day to day activities.  Serve as the escalation point for both customers and squad staff, providing advice and alternative strategies to resolve complex issues.
  • Customer Loyalty.  Partner with the Customer Success Manager (CSM), Lead Analyst and senior squad leadership to ensure customers upgrade and buy new services, while continually renewing their existing Deepwatch services.
  • Teamwork.  Provide support and expertise to the After Hours shift Squad Managers, other members of the Deepwatch team, and our partners as opportunities arise.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:

  • Achieve assigned objectives and deliver desired outcomes in a fast-paced Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, specifically in  these areas:
    • Service Level Agreement Metrics
    • Quality of Analysis
    • Analyst Performance Management
    • Staff Coverage
    • Incident Investigations
  • Apply the level of Cybersecurity analysis and operations expertise and understanding commonly associated with a combination of a bachelor degree and 3-5 years of professional experience in:
    • Cyber technology solutions (endpoint, email, network, MSSP, MDR, etc)
    • Incident analysis and forensics
    • Presenting technical cyber information to business leaders
  • Draw upon your prior successful experience hiring, developing, managing and leading remotely-distributed technical teams who interact directly with customers.
  • Leverage your exceptional communication skills and sound decision-making experience working cross-functionally across teams to resolve complex technical issues for enterprise customers.

Certifications that may be beneficial in this role include:

  • CISSP
  • Advanced Certification in Incident Response
  • GIAC

Colorado* Candidates:

For applicants in Colorado the salary range for this role is $150,000- $175,000 + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
