The position of Senior Software Configuration Engineer is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located in our San Diego, California site. This role is looking for a self-motivated Senior Software Configuration Engineer to establish and maintain the configuration management infrastructure, develop dashboards, reports, metrics, and advanced filters to provide meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports. May perform scripting (Perl, Python, shell) to support existing CM toolset and tool integration. Effectively and efficiently manage the development sprints from planning to execution to review in an agile development environment for several R&D software development teams. Responsibilities include running daily scrums, managing the product backlog, collaborating on requirement documentation, tracking test results, managing support tickets and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Facilitates daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective
• Develop dashboards, reports, metrics, and advanced filters to provide meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
• Manage the engineering Agile driven development projects and facilitates sprint releases
• Drive team sprint execution communicates with management and stakeholders
• Establish and maintain the CM infrastructure
• May perform scripting (Perl, Python, shell) to support existing CM toolset and tool integration.
• Experience in COTS integration environments
• Proven ability working within and building on AWS (IAM, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, EC2)
• 4+ years Linux system engineering experience
• 2+ years managing infrastructure and application security for Highly Sensitive Product Data & Environments
• 2+ years experience deploying with a CI using (Jenkins, CruiseControl)
• Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols and components as implemented in IAAS (i.e. VPC, route tables, security groups, etc.)
• Experience with Git, Subversion, Crucible, Jenkins, Coverity and MySQL
• A continuous learner and a critical thinker.
• A team player with great communication skills both verbal and written.
• Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Abbott Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships
• Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
• Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience; or related experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a software development preferably involving cross-team dependencies.
• 4+ years Linux system engineering experience
• Proven ability to define and implement Software Configuration Management processes in an enterprise environment.
• Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) experience in software release automation in Agile development process
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in performing scripting (Perl, Python, shell) to support existing CM toolset and tool integration.
• Experience in working within and building on AWS (IAM, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, EC2)
• Experience with the following tools: JIRA, Git/Gitblit, Subversion, Jenkins, AWS (IAM, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, EC2).
• Manage the engineering Agile driven development projects and facilitates sprint releases
• Drive team sprint execution communicates with management and stakeholders
• SCRUM Master certification or related experience.

The salary for this role is between:

$79,700 - $159,500
