We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join our Product Development team who will be responsible for helping develop, maintain, and support our open-source infrastructure projects for Postgres High Availability and Postgres Backup technologies.
This includes the Barman project (pgbarman.org), the Patroni project (https://github.com/zalando/patroni), and several in-house tools. We are looking for someone with some leadership background to take the lead role for one of the products.
Candidate Note: This role is 100% remote, we are looking for a candidate located in Spain, but if the right candidate is from a neighboring country from the EU, we will consider it.Â
What your impact will be…
- Developing new features for backup technologies and/or HA technologies.
- Contribute to one or more open-source communities and help the community thrive by responding to questions, reviewing code, and contributing features to the projects(s).Â
- Being part of an internal global development team helping define schedules and meet target delivery dates for new releases.
- Working with Postgres Global Development Group team members to incorporate support for newly implemented features into the infrastructure projects.
- Working with our world-class support team to resolve customer issues and provide training for new product releases.
- Writing regression tests for both newly reported bugs and new features.
- Helping grow our test automation team via our CI/CD pipeline.Â
What you will bring…
- Familiarity with the PostgreSQL open-source database
- Strong communication skills
- 6+ years of professional development experience with Python and/or Python tooling development

What will give you an edge…
- Experience working in an open-source environment
- Experience with other programming languages (C, Golang)Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with Github Actions
- Experience with pipeline technologies or some other framework
