About The Role
Our software team is growing and we are looking for a talented technical lead to join our growing, agile, world-class team. Agility Robotics is building its robot fleet management software and is looking for a tech lead for the software services (back end) team. This team is developing a greenfield application for deploying and managing a fleet of humanoid robots for commercial applications. We are building out our cloud based Application - Arc - in the areas of robot fleet management, remote robot software update, robot operations, robot data collection, metrics and other key areas.
About The Work
- Develop backend APIs and services for our web based robot fleet management application - Arc
- Own the development of new features and services
- Work cross-functionally with product, UXD, front end, robot hardware and software and customer solutions teams
- Build and maintain applications throughout the software lifecycle, including providing on-call support
- Gather and analyze product requirements, turning them into technical solutions
- Write design docs, POCs and code and collaborate with technical peers.
About You
- BS or MS in computer science or related field or equivalent industry experience
- At least 6 years of experience in a software engineer or related role
- Expertise in developing on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience starting with basic or minimal requirements and working with them towards end-to-end solutions
- Excited about building in greenfield environment
- Experience building robust, highly available, high reliability systems
- Experience working in fast paced environments sometimes with changing priorities
- Strong knowledge of Java and Python
- Strong knowledge of Databases and Database design (SQL and NoSQL)
- Breadth of knowledge in writing services and using frameworks, technologies and patterns such as Java/Spring Boot, REST, gRPC, dependency injection, unit testing, mocks etc.

- Experience in a startup or small company environment
- Experience with Hybrid deployments (On Prem + Cloud)
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience in greenfield application development
- Experience with MQTT, Temporal, Postman, LaunchDarkly
- Experience with Robotics, IoT, or similar distributed device environments
