About the Team:
As Robinhood's infrastructure engineering, we are on a mission to provide Robinhood product teams a world-class platform that enables rapid product development by making infrastructure invisible and highly available.
The Data Lake Infrastructure team at Robinhood builds and maintains Robinhood's data lake. The mission of the team is to power data-driven decisions and products at Robinhood by providing centralized platforms to store and use data at scale.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to help build and maintain Robinhood's data lake infrastructure.
What you'll do day-to-day:

• Design large scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
• Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the infrastructure and systems.
• Set up and drive technical directions of the project while mentor and up-level junior engineers in the team.
• Contribute to open source projects.

About you:

• Demonstrated ability and knowledge of building large scale distributed systems, infrastructure and internal tooling using modern technologies like Spark, Flink, Kafka, etc.
• You have strong communication skills and are capable of cross-group collaborations.
• Experienced and familiar with public cloud concepts/technologies.
• Passionate in mentoring junior engineers and improving the engineering craftsmanship.

Bonus points:

• Geographically distributed team exposure as we are a distributed team.
• Experience working with modern table formats like Hudi, DeltaLake, and Iceberg.

Technologies we use:

• Languages: Python, Java
• Compute Frameworks: Spark, Flink, Kafka Connect, Hudi, Debezium, Airflow, etc.
• Databases and Query Engines: Presto, Hive, Postgres, MariaDB, DynamoDb, SqlServer, etc.
• Infrastructure Management: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform, SaltStack
