Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack - Ads

At Nextdoor, the Ads Engineering organization is responsible for building our next-generation Ads platforms focused on serving neighborhoods worldwide, as well as building buying platforms based on the needs of local advertisers and businesses.

We are looking for an experienced senior ads engineer to build the ad platforms to deliver relevant sponsored content to our neighbors and provide value to our advertisers. We are in the early phases of building ads technology, so you will have several opportunities to build the system from the beginning and own the design decision and systems.

You will focus on building out our next-generation Ads platform to manage thousands of advertisers globally and build technology to serve relevant content to the neighbors.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of Software Development experience
• 2+ years of Ads domain experience
• Expertise in at least one server development language: Python, Go, Java, Kotlin
• Expertise in modern JavaScript/HTML/CSS 
• Ability to design and implement performant and scalable services and systems
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment
• Ability to mentor junior engineers across teams

• Experience with React
• Experience within the AWS ecosystem
• Familiarity with A/B and other online testing applications
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $97,000 to $180,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.

Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
