Senior Software Engineer (Growth)

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Growth team, you will get to help us build world-class customer experiences and develop solutions that help Human Interest grow. You will collaborate with domain experts to design, build, test, and maintain systems that provide 401(k) plans and delight our customers. As reliability is key to earning our customers’ trust, you will build robust systems that are observable, maintainable, and scalable.

What you get to do every day

• Build and maintain features that accelerate our company’s growth, such as experimentation, lead generation, marketing integrations
• Improve complex processes and systems to make them more robust and require less human intervention
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to share knowledge and build expertise
• Develop ownership over domains in our system and make informed engineering tradeoffs
• Delight internal and external users by delivering high-value features
• Lead and participate in development life cycle activities like design, coding, testing and production releases
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

What you bring to the role

• 7+ years of experience building and maintaining software in production
• Experience using React and Node.js
• Strong communication skills. Unpacking marketing requirements and discussing complex technical concepts with engineers and non-engineers is no problem to you
• Proactive and empathetic mindset - you love to roll up your sleeves to fix problems for our users
• Experience building solutions in the growth marketing domain
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration ability
• Strong desire to learn new skills and grow
• Enjoy mentoring other engineers and deeply reviewing their code

Nice to have

• Experience using and developing component libraries/design systems
• Familiarity with React Hooks
• Prior knowledge of GraphQL
• System design & architecture experience
• 401k or finance tech background
• Self-driven and willing to learn
• Proficiency with Git as a version control system

Compensation - The salary range target for the role seniority described in this job description is $185,000 - $210,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, compensation/equity mix, and market data. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards, short-term incentives, or sales compensation.
