WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We're on the lookout for an experienced software engineer to design and implement core components of our Business Intelligence Technical Foundation (BITF) platforms and scale it to serve Nike globally. You'll work collaboratively with the BITF and other Data Analytics and Machine Learning teams to ship scalable, performant, and reliable solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:
This person will be working with existing platform engineers and support teams to maintain and scale existing platforms, develop new feature sets, and enable customer success across the BI stack. You will develop proof-of-concept (PoC) projects designed to evaluate the feasibility of new BI tools, features, and/or processes. You would get to install, configure, and fix all aspects of environments which includes data, application, and network configuration in AWS. You will regularly plan and implement upgrades and migrations of data visualization (Tableau, Metric Insights, Alteryx, etc) environments as new versions or patches are released - during scheduled and unscheduled outages.

In leading root cause analysis efforts for operational issues; you'll resolve them independently or with other members within the platform team. This includes sharing knowledge out to support teams around the globe, to ensure platforms have 24/7 L1/2 support; while also documenting and runbooks for operational tasks.

Another exciting duty of this role is that you would manage and implement all ongoing platform improvement efforts: selecting, installing, configuring, making best use of a performance management tool; authoring and driving an ongoing plan to optimize performance / response times against cost (and other key factors). An example; developing best in class observability solutions, including New Relic!
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:
This role sits on the BITF engineering team. The team is passionate about the infrastructure and full stack products that enable data visualization and reporting products across Nike. You get to work closely with other data platform engineering teams across the organization, to design, build, and maintain tightly integrated composable analytics platforms. Additionally, substantial time will be spent working with developers across Nike to understand and enable development of BI products. You will also work with external vendor teams; providing regular communication on status and help drive issues to completion. You'll assist the Product/Program team efforts in providing a high-value, efficient, positive customer onboarding experience. Last, but not least, you would work directly with customer/site admin teams to coordinate planning and execution of platform activities.

WHAT YOU BRING:
Please apply with the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or other related field of study; OR any combination of relevant equivalent experience, education and training
  • 4+ years in an admin/governance/COE role for Tableau Server; and developing on Tableau Desktop
  • 2+ years supporting or managing enterprise platforms and applications, including managing security models, incident management, managing support teams, and advanced troubleshooting across the stack
  • 2+ years experience with Windows Server or networking
  • 2+ years on other BI platforms (Power BI, Looker, Alteryx, DOMO, Thoughtspot, etc)
  • 1+ years experience supporting applications in a cloud environment
  • 1+ years supporting a large community of BI developers and users
  • AWS certification strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated passion for evolving and improving data visualization products
  • Experience developing or supporting data engineering solutions
  • Experience with data warehouse, data lake, or real-time streaming platforms is a plus
  • Passion for working directly with teams of developers to partner on solutions, gather technical requirements, and translate requirements into stories
