WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our team is responsible for creating and maintaining cloud-based payment integration services that are used by Point of Sale Apps across Nike Retail stores around the globe! This position collaborates with the engineering manager for the team. We are looking to add an experienced Senior Retail Commerce Cloud Engineer to this team.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Our services are serverless (AWS Lambda) and primarily written in Java using the Micronaut framework. About 90% of our lambdas are in Java and the rest in Node. We use the following AWS Services as well: DynamoDB, SQS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, etc. In this role you will:
- Participate in technical development and delivery of backend services in the retail environment
- Partner with the product owner to understand requirements and define an MVP for features and agree upon timelines.
- Provide technical expertise in application architecture.
- Collaborating with other teams and architecture to develop new features.
- Ensure quality of the code and products throughout the entire development lifecycle (DevOps)
- Ensure continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, usability, and availability of the platform.
- Use agile methodology concepts for quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in sprint planning and other scrum ceremonies. Help team plan and complete sprint tickets.
- Supervising and supporting the health of services in production.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING?
- Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
- 5+ years of professional experience in application engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java.
- Should have experience in AWS based micro services and no-SQL DB.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, S3, Dynamo DB, or Gradle
- Experienced in unit testing using JUnit or other tools.
- Experienced in automated functional testing using tools like Cucumber.
- Proficient with Agile methodology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.
