Senior Software Engineer in Test

ABOUT THE SENIOR ENGINEER IN TEST ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is looking for a highly motivated Senior Engineer in Test to join the QA Marketplace Team that will have hands-on responsibilities for developing and maintaining our test automation suite. Also will be able to mentor other QA Engineers regarding test automation, best practices, design patterns and other topics in relation to automated test frameworks. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that features are high-quality by building test strategies, writing and executing test plans, and communicating with the team about issues, risk, and product quality.
• Leverage skills and experience to develop automated tests to ensure product quality, both for web and mobile.
• Manually test new features and bug fixes before incorporating them into automated test suites (after performing a test automation candidate analysis). 
• Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the QA process.
• Partner with other automation engineers in test to promote best practices surrounding TDD, continuous integration, code standards, etc.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR ENGINEERS IN TEST HAVE:

• Expert knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Hands on experience writing automated tests for user interfaces and mobile applications.  
• Coding experience using Javascript or Typescript.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration tooling, e.g. Jenkins or similar.
• Familiarity with Github or similar. 
• Experience with modern UI test frameworks like Cypress.
• The ability to perform constructive Pull Request reviews and follow the best practices for test automation.
• Experience using Appium or similar technology.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience working in teams and projects in an Agile, TDD environment.
