Senior Software Engineer (ReactJS, Node)

What We're Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced technical leader and key contributor to join the learning and pedagogy group here at 2U. This is for an engineer who not only leads by example but looks to elevate and help their fellow peers. The team is seeking someone passionate about making great software and having a lasting impact on an education platform that is used by millions of global learners. You are comfortable using and providing guidance in techniques like test-driven development (TDD), and pair programming. You may be strong in one discipline/language, but you do not mind diving into different tech and languages in order to provide the best solution.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Making direct technical contributions (writing, debugging, reviewing, refactoring and deploying code) with React and NodeJS
• Providing technical guidance and feedback to your peers
• Participating in the technical design of applications and also be able to participate in larger system design efforts
• Advocating for end user needs when building and optimizing features
• Coaching and supporting collaboration across an international, distributed team

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

• 3+ years of relevant full-stack experience in web software development
• Background delivering quality software in a sustainable and timely manner
• Prior experience leading cross-functional development initiatives

Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:

• Experience with migrations and/or migration/updating legacy systems
• Experience in higher education ecosystem, 2U's 3-year strategy and major goals, and can align and execute your team's deliverables accordingly

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is $120,000.00 with potential bonus and equity eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate's assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
