Senior Software Engineer - Security

Marqeta is looking for talented software engineers to join our Engineering Fundaments and Security Engineering. You’ll write software that helps ensure visibility, life cycle management, compliance, and security for our systems and infrastructure. 

• Develop software and internal tooling to drive automation towards compliance, security, and other areas of cloud infrastructure.  
• Empower engineering teams to self-serve infrastructure changes 
• Develop security-centric SDKs and APIs
• Design and implement scalable java or golang based services and libraries 
• Demonstrated experience in the cloud (AWS, GCP Preferred), systems security, or site-reliability engineering
• Demonstrated experience with incident response
• Substantial knowledge of the Linux operating system and standard OS hardening practices
• Lead projects and drive them to completion.
  

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security, or equivalent role leveraging AWS  with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.  In place of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience may suffice.
• Strong coding and/or scripting skills in Java, Python, Ruby, Golang, or similar. 
• Experience leveraging RESTful APIs to build tools or integrations.
• Expert in automation and orchestration platforms (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.). 
• Hands-on experience designing and developing infrastructure and Database automation.
• Experience automating in cloud environments, preferably with AWS.

• Knowledge of relational OLTP databases 
• Experience with identity access management (IAM)
