About the role:

UKG is looking to hire a highly motivated Senior Software QA Engineer to join our Data Store Team in the Platform Pillar. Our team develops extensible solutions that enhance the delivery of data from UKG Pro to various other products in the company. As a QA engineer in Data Store, you will be responsible and accountable for the quality of the product as well as for designing, developing, and maintaining testing automation tools and scripts, all while working in a highly collaborative environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Ensure features and functionality is thoroughly tested before being rolled out• Development of automation tools or scripts to improve product and engineering health• Develop test plans based on product and organizational strategies• Define the test framework, test preconditions, and other test control and reporting functions to enable others to test functionality• Drive opportunities and lead efforts to improve existing test infrastructure or create new test infrastructure to increase efficiency and productivity in test case development, scheduling, or deployment• Participate in product design review with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to contribute to product design, testability, and implementation• Understand and leverage elements of DevOps best practices such as version control, automated testing, automated deployment, CI/CD• Work in a cloud-based environment to support our tools and processes• Closely collaborate within and outside the team on different matters concerning quality and support of our products• Mentor and train new or more junior engineers• Responsible for team deliverables

Qualifications

About You:

Basic Qualifications:• 4+ years of experience developing and using testing automation tools and frameworks• Solid knowledge of test methodologies• Familiarity with Test Driven Development process• Familiarity with Java or a JVM based language and JUnit• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:• Some familiarity with any public cloud solution• Experience with Agile development methodology
