Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

The Network Sourcing team within CSSC (Cloud Sourcing and Supply Chain) is responsible for sourcing network and optical technologies for Microsoft's Cloud Infrastructure. This team's focus is guiding supplier partner congruence to Microsoft's vision and principles to create the best experience for Microsoft's customers. We are seeking a high-caliber professional to develop and mature the sourcing strategy for Core Switching, a mission critical and quickly growing networking category.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and passionate about evaluating and influencing new business and technology trends. The individual must have the ability to partner and create internal and external clarity, have technical and business acumen in the networking and systems engineering field, and be able to evaluate network architectures and roadmaps to guide supplier technology and relationship strategy.ResponsibilitiesThe role of Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager will focus on several key initiatives:

• Define and establish Microsoft's Network sourcing strategy for Network Security hardware, silicon, and software to drive competitive advantages for Microsoft cloud offerings
• Own the technical sourcing process, partnering with product engineering teams on high visibility technology developments and delivery of innovative solutions
• Influence design, architecture, and technology selection through strategic stakeholder partnership and supplier road-mapping
• Drive supplier technology quality and support performance, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness and overall capability as a catalyst for Microsoft's growth
• Create robust negotiation strategies (game theory led) and cost targeting through understanding of market dynamics, benchmarking, and trends
• Serve as the supplier relationship manager for respective categories

Qualifications Required Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering, Business or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience in Network switching hardware and software
• 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing, business development, field application engineering, sales, product line management, or in fields requiring technical & business acumen

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering, business, or closely related field
• Experience in system and architecture cost analysis and data modeling
• Strong storytelling and influencing skills with a track record of developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships
• Thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment
