Job Description

Fictiv Exists to Enable Hardware Innovators to Build Better Products, Faster

Fictiv, coined the “AWS of manufacturing,” is a leading technology company transforming the $350 billion manufacturing industry. Our cutting-edge cloud platform uses AI and machine learning algorithms to help companies build hardware at the speed of software. Come join our growing team!

What’s in it for you?

List at least two comparative wins for this role over another that someone might consider. Example follows.

Opportunity To Unlock Your Creativity
Think of all the times you were held back from trying new ideas because you were boxed in by bureaucratic legacy processes or old school tactics. Having a growth mindset is deeply ingrained into our company culture since day 1 so Fictiv is an environment where you have the creative liberty and support of the team to try big bold ideas to achieve our sales and customer goals.

Opportunity To Grow Your Career
At Fictiv, you'll be surrounded by supportive teammates who will push you to be your best through their curiosity and passion.

Impact In This Role

In this role, you’ll be using your supplier quality engineering background in mechanical hardware production, leveraging your manufacturing process knowledge and structured problem solving skills, to resolve issues and to continually drive improvements.

The role is very hands-on, with frequent travel to our Indian manufacturing partners expected. Additionally, you will maintain contact between visits using remote working practices such as virtual audits. At Fictiv, we believe a robust network of manufacturing partners is essential for creating and maintaining the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing, and you’ll be playing a critical role in making that happen.

You will be instrumental in giving customers the confidence that Fictiv manages the manufacturing of parts even better than they would.

You will report to the U.S. Quality Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

List and describe the key responsibilities of the role.

  • Ensuring MPs meet Fictiv expectations, particularly around On-Time, In-Full deliveries (OTIF)
  • Driving zero escaping defects culture at MPs
  • Exception management for MPs, reviewing root causes and improvement plans, verifying the effectiveness of actions taken, and being the customer advocate
  • Develop MPs to drive a quality assurance approach in preference to a quality control approach
  • Product release at MP sites
  • Verification of MPs’ inspection, measurement, test methods and results
  • Periodic audits of MPs’ quality management systems
  • Supporting customer interactions with MPs
Desired Traits

List the important traits (outside of our core traits) that will be further screened for during the interview process. This should also mirror what is presented in the different personas.

  • Minimum 7 years working in an SQE role
  • B.Sc. in Engineering discipline (ideally Mechanical Engineering)
  • Quality Professional body certification preferred
  • Certification in structured problem solving e.g. 8D, Six Sigma, Shainin
  • Background in working with CNC machining, with preferably some injection molding experience
  • Background in ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems
  • Preferred to have worked for Western enterprises
