Job Description

**This position can be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.**

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Respond to classification inquiries from internal teams (branch level live classification requests) and external clients (project-based classifications)
  • Provide guidance on classifications to clients and internal C.H. Robinson operations staff
  • Maintain product and instructional databases and update tariff book
  • Consult with sales, refund department and Trade Policy on classification issues
  • Obtain binding rulings as required
  • Assist Trade Policy Advisors and Management as required for client engagements and projects
  • Prioritize client requests for project based and ad-hoc classifications
  • Manage large client projects as required
  • Full knowledge of US Customs classification practices
  • Engage independently in direct customer facing activities
  • Serve as mentor to other "non-senior" members of the team
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 10 years of previous Customs Brokerage experience
  • 8-10 years of harmonized classification experience (USHTS and/or CAHTS)
  • Expert in Canadian and/or United States Customs Regulations
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Demonstrated communication, prioritization and time management skills
  • Organized and able to multitask/lead complex projects in matrix/non-direct management environment.
  • Direct management/leadership experience
  • Customer facing experience

Preferred:

  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) (Canada)
  • Licensed United States Customs Broker (United States)
  • Ability to "strategically influence" across the organization without direct leadership authority
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Master's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or similar field
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in remote work environment
  • Bilingual in English and French (Canada Only)
  • Knowledge of Export compliance (ECCN, Schedule B)

Compensation Range

$59,300.00 - $123,200.00
