Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The group is responsible for designing, building, and operating Microsoft's global datacenters; managing the programmatic delivery of our critical infrastructure design, equipment procurement, construction delivery, infrastructure innovation, demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all operations needed to run the physical infrastructure. We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data-driven engineering, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's 200+ online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Bing, Xbox Live, Skype, and OneDrive. Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager. This person should be intellectually curious, relentless, and looking for insights in data that can turn into actionable and measurable outcomes. Strong analytical skills, using data to design processes that scale, effective collaboration across internal and external users, and the drive to continuously improve and achieve business objectives will be critical to success in this role.
This role also requires excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with an ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities. You will be working with people from many different teams and backgrounds requiring an open mind-set. You must be able to identify and partner with other groups to achieve joint or complimentary goals. You will create, maintain, and track project level information and be responsible for operational reviews and driving internal alignment. You will drive clarity, data integrity, and decisions across network acquisition and planning teams, as well as help drive process and systems optimization for the network infrastructure planning and execution process. A proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on time providing measurable impact to be successful in this role.

  • Build, develop and maintain highly collaborative and effective working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate proactive planning and flawless execution against our business objectives.
  • Support strategy and planning across the organization including, but not limited to both semester and long-term aspects.
  • Support and execute rhythm of the business activities; includes overall cadence, preparation of materials and presenters, and post-event surveys and feedback for all-hands, business reviews, offsites, etc.
  • Support the development and governance of Supplier MBR reporting, compliance and escalations.
  • Establish or enhance team processes, routines, and reporting to be well managed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in business processes and tools to enable rapid growth and scale.
  • Identify tools and processes and eliminate low value tasks, align multiple rhythms, consolidate required inputs into reduced deliverables with commonality.
  • Lead and manage Cloud project initiatives for platform enablement and delivering capabilities that exceed customer expectations to enable rapid pace delivery.
  • Drive tools and systems requirements for acquisition activities planning and tracking.
  • Drive data quality across reporting and tooling.
  • Manage, track, and drive alignment with partner teams on critical project deliverables.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement knowledge management tools and sites to ensure effective cultivating, maintaining and sharing of team knowledge.
  • Own acceptance and criteria needed to build out and/or create Dashboards and Reports.
  • Additional projects as needed.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    o OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Working experience in Cloud (hyperscaler or customer) or equivalent Data Center and Network environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel with advanced use of pivot tables and macros
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills working with disparate data sources to create a comprehensive view
  • Strong familiarity with PowerBi or equivalent Business Intelligence reporting toolset

These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets (see below). The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role (except as noted below); the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
