Well, we are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager who is is a clear communicator who is exceedingly detail oriented, continually looks for opportunities to automate and has excellent knowledge of project management best practices as applied in an agile environment. This role is within the Engineering department, and reports to the Manager, Technical Project Management.
A day in the life of a Senior Technical Project Manager at Calendly
As a Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) in the Platform Services and Trust group, you will be expected to seamlessly shift between working with different audiences - from collaborating with R&D leadership to drive high priority initiatives, to engaging with Enablement teams to ensure release readiness. You will work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, QA, Design, etc.) to efficiently balance the delivery of product features and a technical roadmap, driving a more service-oriented architecture. You will work closely with squads and other TPMs in the Platform Services and Trust group to report on project progress to convey the health of each initiative. You will be responsible for managing the progress, dependencies and risks of large initiatives that span multiple engineering groups. You should be a proactive problem solver that is comfortable asking probing questions and engaging in technical and business discussions in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you are eager to overcome challenges of scale by motivating the team to work together in the most efficient manner by utilizing your strong interpersonal skills to influence without authority.Â
The Platform Services and Trust Group consists of 7 squads and is responsible for building the foundational components needed to accelerate the core product capabilities of scheduling and meeting management. This group is focused on creating a trusted, scalable platform for enterprises and the Calendly product.Â
On a typical day, you will:
- Program manage Platform Services and Trust group initiatives and their dependencies across multiple engineering groups
- Collaborate with Product & Engineering leaders to drive strategic R&D priorities
- Identify opportunities to create frameworks and optimize process - and ensure they are defined, documented, and adoptedÂ
- Mentor TPMs and raise the overall maturity of the TPM department
- Coordinate activities to align stakeholders and maintain transparency and awareness for the release of features from the Platform Services and Trust groupÂ
- Lead the recurring planning processes for the group virtually and at in-person off-sites
What do we need from you?
- 8+ years experience in software delivery (ideally B2B SaaS organizations)
- 8+ years project/program management experience in an agile environment
- Results-oriented; ability to stay highly organized and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail, influence across the organization, and exercise high judgment for trade-offs
- Experience working with highly technical projects in a service-oriented architecture
- Experience automating manual processes to increase Engineering productivity
- Agile (CSM, ACP) and/or project management (PMP) certifications
- Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Trello, Advanced Roadmaps), Google suite, Miro, Slack
- Experience managing projects with teams remotely across different geographic locations
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
