Job Description

Agile Six is a people-first, remote-work company that serves shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agencies to find innovative, human-centered solutions. We build better by putting people first. We are animated by our core values of Purpose, Wholeness, Trust, Self-Management and Inclusion. We deliver our solutions in autonomous teams of self-managed professionals (no managers here!) who genuinely care about each other and the work. We know that’s our company’s purpose – and that we can only achieve it by supporting a culture where talented people feel valued, self-managed, and love to come to work.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced full cycle recruiter to join our People Ops team. We’re seeking someone who understands full life cycle recruiting for tech companies, but who is eager to do things differently to create better outcomes for the people who use government services. We’re looking for a teammate who is empathetic, equity-focused, and mission-driven to attract like-minded individuals to Agile Six. While the primary focus will be recruiting, we’re looking for someone who can nurture trust-based relationships, focus on team outcomes, and thrive as part of a cross-functional team committed to putting people first.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about improving Government and working in a collaborative environment that encourages autonomy, and committed to a transparent and equitable hiring strategy that will foster an ecosystem of diverse perspectives and backgrounds. We’re looking for someone ready to jump in and advance our mission and values at all stages of the recruiting and hiring process.

Our Approach

This is not a typical recruiter position, and we are not seeking to fill it with someone who is interested in working in traditional ways. At Agile Six:

  • We cover many areas as a lean, cross-functional team (you might see yourself working on onboarding, benefits, DEI, proposals, or team coaching). We believe great things happen when we find the intersection between our individual strengths and the organization's needs, and then sense and respond within that space.
  • We do not set or pursue growth targets. Instead, we seek out partnerships and work where we can create the best outcomes for users of government services.
  • We do not negotiate salaries or pay commission to anyone on our team. Instead, we focus on equal pay for equal work and shared responsibility for outcomes.
  • We do not believe that “any revenue is good revenue.” Instead, we pursue work where we can deliver better outcomes for people, and we work hard to hire Sixers who share our purpose and values. We seek to build long-term relationships with Sixers built on trust, wholeness, and shared purpose. To do so, we prioritize empathy, emotional intelligence, and clear communication.
  • We don’t overly rely on process. We believe traditional organizational practices often lead to misaligned incentive structures and a false sense of security at the expense of wholeness and outcomes. Instead, we listen, seek to understand the needs of our clients, partners, and teams, and then sense and respond.
  • We really care about what we do and are looking for someone who brings the same passion for building a better Government and workplace.
Responsibilities

You will not be solely responsible for these areas, but rather working as part of a cross-functional team equipped with the knowledge and authority to contribute across the organization.

  • Support and serve project teams in performing full life cycle recruiting for a variety of positions, seeking candidates who align with our technical needs and core values
  • Improve our recruiting and interviewing strategy, focusing on inclusive processes to bring in talented and mission-driven Sixers from diverse backgrounds
  • Work closely with project teams to determine hiring needs, create position descriptions that align with those needs, assemble and train interview panels, and support team-based hiring decisions
  • Work closely with our People Ops team to facilitate effective and efficient onboarding for new Sixers
  • Expand the top of the talent funnel by representing and advocating for Agile Six through social media, partnerships, conferences, and applicable recruiting events (Code For America, Women Who Code)
  • Build and maintain a pool of potential candidates to facilitate staffing projects quickly and effectively
  • Contribute to our cross functional team in other areas of need that align with your strengths and interests. This may include supporting the employee experience, DEI initiatives, team coaching, or marketing.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience building, cultivating, and sustaining inclusive networks of qualified, passive candidates and creating mechanisms to manage a candidate pool
  • 5 + years of experience in full life cycle technical recruiting
  • Comfort with public outreach and public speaking around the mission and roles of Agile Six
  • Proficiency running and iterating recruiting processes
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (we currently use Greenhouse)
  • Experience working as part of a team, with demonstrated emphasis on collaboration, communication, and self-management
  • A commitment to contributing to a culture of wholeness, self-management, and trust-based teams
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in Civic Tech
  • Experience in Human Resources or People Operations
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Experience working with Government agencies
  • Are a U.S. Veteran
