Senior Technical Writer

There are few places in Microsoft that have as direct of an impact on as many customers as the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) team. We are seeking a Sr. Technical Writer. In this role, you will work across functional staff in MSRC incident response to communicate strategy and a roadmap that describes how technical communications work can better support them and the broader MSRC.
The successful candidate will be an engaged, innovative, and growth-oriented technical writer that is proactive and wants to change the world with great communications and documentation for MSRC. The successful candidate will enjoy taking ownership of technical information from multiple contributors and creating professional and clear writing that informs and/or instructs the world around them.Responsibilities

• Effectively write, establish, and communicate security issues (incidents and intelligence) at a senior/executive level
• Key contributor to our MSRC incident response teams and play a meaningful role in writing and representing security communications
• Responsible for writing and quality control of security briefings, communications, and articles as well as assisting in evaluating current products and material for improvements, effectiveness, and gaps
• Responsible for maintenance and support of existing written MSRC artifacts

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in creating clear and compelling executive oriented security communications and/or public content

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams
• Knowledge and experience in NIST CSF & SP00-61R2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI, SOC 2
• Professional technical writing certifications (CTP, CPTC, or similar)
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent experience
