Job Description

Team: IT

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Threat Operations Specialist in United States.
As a Senior Threat Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding users by investigating and mitigating harmful content across digital platforms. You will analyze complex threats, develop actionable intelligence, and implement preventative measures to reduce risks, particularly for minors and vulnerable populations. This role combines operational excellence with investigative rigor, requiring the ability to work with sensitive content while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will leverage data, open-source intelligence, and internal systems to proactively identify and respond to abuse. Your work will directly impact platform safety, user trust, and compliance with external reporting standards. The position offers opportunities to mentor colleagues, shape investigative processes, and contribute to strategic safety initiatives in a fast-paced, global environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Review and respond to sensitive content escalations, including child exploitation, graphic violence, self-injury, and other objectionable material.
  • Investigate complex cases, identifying perpetrators and networks, and produce high-quality reports for internal stakeholders, NGOs, and law enforcement.
  • Proactively detect abuse through data analysis, open-source intelligence, and third-party information sources.
  • Make risk-based, timely decisions in high-pressure situations while balancing user privacy and safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including Policy, Product, Engineering, and Legal—to prevent and disrupt abuse at scale.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, deliver training, and maintain up-to-date internal resources on investigative workflows.
  • Adapt to irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, to support global operations.
  • Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience investigating crimes against children or working in Trust & Safety, intelligence, law enforcement, or NGOs.
  • Experience reporting to NGOs and conducting in-depth investigations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly in written, verbal, or visual formats.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, sensitive environments while prioritizing workload using risk-based assessments.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals and meet SLA requirements.
  • Bonus qualifications: secondary language skills (preferably Portuguese), tertiary education in Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or related fields, and experience using SQL, Python, or other programming tools for data analysis.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $124,000–$136,500 USD (prorated for temporary position) + benefits.
  • Health coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Paid time off and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance.
  • Professional development opportunities and mentorship programs.
  • Supportive, inclusive workplace environment with global collaboration.
  • Potential for contract extension or conversion to a permanent role.
