Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, design/UX or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability in building web experiences with JavaScript frameworks (React & Angular) and preprocessors (Sass)
  • Demonstrated ability in using advanced Responsive Design techniques (e.g., responsive images)
  • Familiarity in the UX discipline (user research/testing, design thinking, prototyping, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability in writing accessible applications and components using digital accessibility knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability in writing modular, component-based CSS and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated ability using CSS architectural principles (e.g., BEM, ITCSS, CSS-in-JS)
  • Demonstrated ability with testing techniques, including accessibility, performance and unit testing
  • Demonstrated ability using version control systems (e.g., Git)


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability using build, bundling and package management/publishing tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, NPM)
  • Demonstrated ability using Typescript
  • Demonstrated ability using Node.js


Job Summary

As a Senior UX Engineer, you'll build components, libraries, applications, tools and design systems to meet user needs. In this role, you'll combine HTML, CSS and JavaScript with practical design and accessibility knowledge and advocate for collaboration between design and engineering. This is an opportunity to develop UX engineer best practices as well as mentor and develop others on your team.

We're the team establishing the source of truth for building on-brand digital experiences. Our efforts unify the work across multiple teams, products, and platforms while empowering 2000+ engineers and 100+ designers to do the best work of their lives.

Responsibilities
  • Work within the UX process to create user-focused features and interactions
  • Modify existing software to fix errors and improve the overall quality and functionality
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Develop team standards and best practices such as improvements to the team's processes, code and systems
  • Develop and perform software automated testing procedures, solutions and frameworks to ensure software functions
  • Assist with delivery estimates
  • Determine and execute software deployment process
  • Contribute to the internally developed, open-source Design System
  • Act as the technical lead on projects and features
  • Mentor and develop other UX engineer team members
  • Recommend metrics and utilize data to track performance and prioritize future product features
