This position is fully remote and can sit anywhere within the United States.

As a Senior UX Taxonomist, you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the information architecture and taxonomy of our online experience for our enterprise networking and SaaS products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, product managers, and developers, to create clear, structured, and user-friendly information systems that meet the needs of our diverse user base.
You will work across the organization with engineering and product partners to operationalize content production across the product lifecycle. You will also work closely with UX Design, User Research and Info Dev to create dedicated processes around content governance, standards, as well as, help define a strategy for content distribution across all platforms and users. You will be part of a team of the Generative Context Design team pairing with content strategists and UX writers. A significant part of the role is UX Design advocacy and implementing processes that support a content-led product design methodology.
 
Key Responsibilities:
· Define and implement the information architecture and taxonomy strategy for our enterprise SaaS products, ensuring seamless organization and findability of content and features.
· Collaborate with UX designers to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that effectively communicate the information structure and hierarchy.
· Conduct user research and analysis to gain insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points, and leverage these insights to inform the information architecture design.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive taxonomy that aligns with industry standards, user mental models, and our product offerings.
· Partner with content creators and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and consistent labeling, tagging, and categorization of content.
· Establish and enforce information architecture and taxonomy guidelines and best practices, promoting usability and accessibility across our product suite.
· onduct usability testing and user feedback analysis to continuously improve and iterate on the information architecture and taxonomy.
· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging practices in AI generated content, data taxonomies, and enterprise SaaS, and share insights and knowledge with the team.
· Consult and strategize with UX and Content specialists to successfully achieve product and user goals.
· Be a leader with a vision to help advance Extreme’s experience strategy globally and challenge others to change and adopt modern experience methodologies.
· Strategize against the full life cycle of systems and applications by working collaboratively with other leaders across Customer Experience Design, Product Management and Software Engineering to deliver improved experiences for our users while progressing toward valuable business outcomes.
· Facilitate content and UX design strategy across teams.
· Work with UX Designers to Develop User Centric Design practices consisting of end user’s needs, wants, and limitations, across all stages of the Design and Product Development.
· Present content requirement and governance recommendations with inputs from research initiatives and ideation by assisting in testing prototypes while providing valuable synthesis and recommendations to the key stakeholders and users at Extreme Networks.
· Contribute to the content and design systems, UX writing, taxonomy strategy, wireframes and prototypes for feedback and testing to drive adoptable outcomes.
· Lead cross-functional Consulting and Collaboration, demonstrating leadership by helping the team and stakeholders navigate product vision, high-level business priorities and desired outcomes.
· Participate in Scoping, Design Thinking, Kick-Off, and other workshops with other team members eventually assuming the role of inception facilitator.
· Lead content reviews to ensure the production of high-quality design artifacts and content requirements across the team.
· Educates partners like product management and engineering on design and content practices.
 
The Contribution:
· Facilitating workshops, work independently and collaboratively within a balanced product team to designing complex multi-sided systems or enterprise software.
· Guide product contextual design decisions through user research, development, and iterative feedback.
· Partner with Product Managers and/or design leadership on initiatives that impact all the Design, Research, and Writing —including resourcing strategies, tool optimization and education, and process improvements that help us scale and deliver outcomes-based roadmaps across the product organization.
· Identify critical issues across our internal and cross-functional landscape and execute operational and strategic initiatives.
Establishing and improving content strategy and DesignOps to DevOps workflows and processes to ensure we deliver quality content with predictability at scale.
Optimize our Experience Platforms, Tools (i.e. Figma, Miro, Monday, zeroheight), and Practices, how and when we use them.
Follow lean startup and pairing methods with UX Engineering to ensure what was designed and validated gets built.
 
What you need to succeed
· Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Library Sciences or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
· Deep experience in at least one of the following design skills: Information Architecture, UI Writing, UX Design, Content Strategy, User Research, Interaction Design, or Service Design.
· Experience working within a product teams, including collaborating with designers, content strategists, researchers, UX engineers, and product management.
· 12+ years’ experience with digital content, UX Design, or Product Design, creating and/or improving transactional websites or software products. Experience with enterprise software and applications a plus. Formal degree or training in HCI, Product Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design or related fields or equivalent job experience.
· Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing information architectures and taxonomies for complex digital products, with measurable improvements in user experience.
· Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, information organization, and findability best practices.
· Proficient in using information architecture and taxonomy tools, as well as wireframing and prototyping tools.
· Experience working with cross-functional teams and effectively collaborating with UX designers, product managers, and developers.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and scalable information structures.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
