About The Team
UKG is seeking a skilled and motivated hands-on security analyst to assist with technical project coordination and vulnerability analysis. The security analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of cybersecurity projects and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive security initiatives, and contribute to the overall security posture of our organization.
About the Role
To thrive in this role, you should have a solid understanding of application security principles, best practices, and industry standards such as OWASP Top 10 and SANS Top 25. You should possess excellent communication skills, as you will be required to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks, work with business partners, and drive projects to successful completion will be crucial in this role.
Responsibilities• Collaborate with clients to understand their security requirements, develop comprehensive test plans, and execute penetration testing engagements.• Communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, ensuring a shared understanding of risks and recommended actions.• Lead and manage technical projects related to penetration testing and cybersecurity, ensuring effective coordination, task assignment, and timely project completion.• Work closely with engineering teams to identify vulnerabilities, facilitate remediation efforts, and ensure the implementation of appropriate security controls.• Prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and business impact, providing actionable recommendations for risk mitigation.• Utilize severity scoring models, such as EPSS and CVSS, to assess and quantify the impact of vulnerabilities.• Assist in defining and implementing solutions that meet both security mandates and business needs, aligning security requirements with overall business objectives.• Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, continuously enhancing your technical knowledge and skills
Qualifications
About You:
Basic Qualifications:• 5 years experience in vulnerability analysis with a strong understanding of application security principles, best practices, and industry standards.• Proven experience in leading and managing technical projects related to penetration testing or cybersecurity.• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Proficiency in assessing application vulnerabilities, including those related to web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and cloud-based applications.• Experience assisting during audits to ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:• 2+ years of experience in web application penetration testing or a web application-focused security analyst role is preferred• Familiarity with compliance requirements such as SOC 2, GDPR, FedRAMP, and HIPAA.• Experience working with severity scoring models, such as EPSS and CVSS.• Prior experience working with engineering teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.• Security+, CEH, GWEB, GWAPT or equivalent certifications are preferred but not required.
