Senior WordPress Engineer - Remote

The Position:

We are looking for a Senior WordPress Engineer to join our advanced and innovative marketing team. This person will own the entire web experience for FastSpring, partnering with design, demand gen, and content teams to ensure we’re efficiently attracting and acquiring new customers, growing our organic reach, and showcasing our brand. They will solve interesting puzzles for evolving FastSpring’s web properties, leverage advanced build and leading web technologies, and help make FastSpring’s web properties a shining example of how our customers should think about bringing their own SaaS and software businesses to market.

In this role, you will grow and stretch your existing skills and imagination including working with FastSpring’s CMO David Vogelpohl who has a very advanced and extensive WordPress and web development background. This role will report to our Director of Demand Generation and this person will have an outsized strategy voice and ownership over the direction of the FastSpring digital properties.

Responsibilities:

• Own FastSpring’s digital properties including choosing and implementing our technology stack, defining procedures and policies, creating new experiences within our existing digital properties, and managing strategy related to major changes to our digital properties.
• Ensure that FastSpring’s digital properties are properly maintained for security patches, follow sound security practices, are continually held to high page performance standards, and that other critical maintenance requirements are met.
• Ensure that major changes to FastSpring’s digital properties follow clear and documented workflow acceptance methodologies including and where appropriate manual Q/A, automated testing (functional regression testing), browser testing, etc.
• Work closely with the  Director of Demand Generation and designers to identify strategies and implement various changes to our digital properties based on those strategies.
• Own relationships with contractors and agencies who may provide additional resources for you over time.
• Own the implementation of tracking capabilities within our digital properties including Google Analytics, Marketo, and similar technologies.
• Coding landing pages and similar types of pages based on designs provided to you.
• Choose 3rd party plugins and/or code custom plugins for WordPress as our technology needs evolve.

Skills & Experience:

• Ideally 5+ years of maintaining, building and optimizing sites with WordPress including light custom plugin development when needed. Strong HTML/CSS and PHP with moderate to advanced Javascript experience.
• Deeply familiar with modern web stacks, marketing tech, and best practices to guide FastSpring’s website into its next phase of growth.
• Systematic thinker -- this role requires the ability to manage complex web projects and effectively establish and refine processes.
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex web projects, ideally within a marketing organization. You will have project management support as well.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally across marketing, design, and external agencies to deliver successful web projects
• Data-informed and creative, you thrive in a fast-paced work environment. You have a keen eye for best-in-class design
• Experience with technical SEO (semantic HTML and general best practices) and implementing accessible digital experiences.

Salary range: $85,000 - $140,000
