LOCATION: REMOTE/HYBRID IN HOUSTON, TX AREA

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Service Performance Engineer will be an instrumental part of the Fluence Americas Regional Services organization. This role will engage with the Field Service Engineers and Customers to identify and resolve product and performance issues to optimize fleet performance.

· Evaluate system performance and identify top regional technical issues. Develop and communicate cost, asset availability and reliability impact to the business. Support product engineering resolution of issues.
· Evaluate, identify and resolve system controls performance issues which requires an in depth knowledge of the Fluence control system and customer use cases.
· Evaluate requests from the business and OEMs for field action ensuring technical validity and clarity. Ensure field service team understands and implements technical bulletins.
· Monitor fleet key metrics to identify operational issues and drive actions to correct.
· Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers on performance concerns and technical issues supporting the Field Service Engineering team.
· Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared and implemented within Americas and global teams.
· Liaison with product engineering to reduce lifecycle costs of future products.
· Representative for service with supplier quality for OEM issues.

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • Bachelors’ degree Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and experience in Field Service.
  • 3 years industry experience required or expertise with power conversion systems, chillers, batteries, controls (Utility, Wind, Solar, or Thermal energy equipment supplier).
  • Understanding of energy storage from hardware and software standpoint.
  • Must possess strong customer service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Root cause analysis/problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Linux, Python, shell scripting.
