Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

The transportation industry has no shortage of complex problems requiring creative solutions to scale efficiently. This high-visibility team is charged with supporting Mastery engineering by investigating and resolving issues. In this role, you will work to build monitoring and alerting for our application and strive to be a trusted engineering resource and a go-to for troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution. You will ensure we meet or exceed our service level agreements and provide Mastery customers with world-class service. You will have the opportunity to leverage and contribute to our growing knowledge base, automation, and development processes. You will be able to take advantage of your technical skills to perform root cause analysis and provide guidance to our engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Work within the established development process and knowledge base while actively contributing to the team’s constant improvement
• Work collaboratively with Mastery support, engineering, and customers to research and identify root cause of issues
• View and interpret activity and error logs to determine impact and severity of performance issues within our software
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex software issues while understanding an external customers' business processes within the Logistics industry
• Partner with engineering teams to create new monitoring and alerting, and review, recommend and evaluate existing monitors and alerts established by teams
• Represent the Mastery brand & values during all client interactions
• Manage and work active tickets escalated into Tier 3
• Identify, communicate and escalate critical issues to appropriate internal engineering teams
• Monitor software applications and work with third-party vendor applications and other software related support functions
• Troubleshoot software issues and collaborate with support teams, quality assurance, and software development for remediation

Requirements

• 2+ years in a site reliability engineering or application development role
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Data-driven, logical, and methodical approach to researching, categorizing and solving issues
• Enterprise software experience required
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Exemplary organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong ability to remain patient, listen and empathize with customer questions and software issues
• Highly motivated with the ability to learn all facets of the logistics industry and Mastery software functionality
• Experience creating and following documented processes that require Service Level Agreements with external customers
• Experience with logistics industry preferred
• Experience with Jira Service Desk, FreshDesk, or Zen Desk preferred
• Software implementation experience a plus
