What is the Snapchat Design Program?
The Snapchat Design Program is an immersive, paid program, over a 4-week employment period.
Instead of leaning on traditional interview methods like take home tests, Snapchat's Design Program allows us to work with external designers in a practical setting, and assess their design skills, creativity and collaboration abilities, all while being compensated over a 4-week fixed-term.
Design Program participants who excel may receive an offer to join Snap's Product Design team full-time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Deep understanding of Snapchat products
- A portfolio showcasing your work and mobile design skills
- 1+ year of experience designing and shipping mobile applications
- 1+ year of experience using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, or other design tools
Application Process
- The application process for the Snapchat Design Program begins with the online application where you'll provide some information about yourself and a resume.
- Additionally, applicants must submit this form for consideration.
Design Program Period
- The Snapchat Design Program will last one month (4-weeks)
- Each week, Designer(s) will receive two written creative briefs.
- Projects are designed to help showcase participant's insights, creativity, collaboration, craft and execution.
- Near the end of the program, Designer(s) present a few of their best projects to Design Leadership.
Afterwards
- Product Design participants who excel may be invited to interview for a full-time role on Snap's Product Design team
- Evaluation criteria is the same as the initial application process: designers who demonstrate high creativity, a deep understanding of Snapchat, a unique and thoughtful perspective, and collaboration abilities.
- Participation does not guarantee an employment offer at the conclusion of the program.
Compensation
- Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) : The base salary for this program position is $60,000 annually
- Zone B : The base salary for this program position is $60,000 annually
- Zone C : The base salary for this program position is $60,000 annually
