Social Media Intern

The Basics:   

It’s time to give Tanium a megaphone to help amplify its voice. We’re looking for our next Social Media Intern to help us make some noise via Tanium social media accounts including LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and Reddit. We are looking for a creative, knowledgeable, passionate, and skillful right-hand person to raise engagements, increase followers and improve the overall image and feel of Tanium's social media accounts.

What you’ll do:  

• You will be responsible for helping our social media team on projects, work and deliverables including: 
  • Putting a social-media twist on Tanium announcements, coverage, awards, events, etc.  
  • Partnering with our creative team to create captivating, informative, and lively Twitter threads 
  • Helping editors and writers polish their headlines 
  • Giving our best evergreen stories and case studies new life and relevancy to help our audiences better understand how and why Tanium is here to help
  • Monitoring account trends and growth  
  • Designing and running campaigns to test new strategies and tactics for interacting with followers
  • Collaborating with the PR, events, marketing teams to bring Tanium's voice to light 

We’re looking for someone who is:  

• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future 
• Available to work full-time from June 12, 2023 to August 18, 2023  
• Bachelor’s Degree candidate, majoring in business or a related field (e.g. Business, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.) with a minimum GPA of 3.5 
• Graduating Spring 2024 or Fall 2023 
• Demonstrated ability to write in article format and technical writing arenas
• Understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
• Ability to mix creativity with an analytical prowess 
• Knowledgeable and up-to-date in different social media trends and best practices
• Passionate about communications, social media, marketing and enjoys learning skills
• Natural curiosity and initiative to work independently

Other helpful experience you may have: 

• Writing and editing/proofing experience 
• Video or animation experience 
• Prior experience with a social media management tool (ex: Sprout) is helpful but not required 
• Natural curiosity and initiative to work independently
• Interpersonal communication skills 
• Awareness of timelines, objectives, and goals 

All our interns are paid an hourly wage to work full-time for the duration of our internship.
