Wild Alaskan Company is looking for a talented and experienced Social Media Manager to join our fast-growing mission-driven brand. The Social Media Manager will craft a new social media strategy focusing on business growth, not in-app growth. They’ll be responsible for planning and executing programming across all social media channels (existing and nascent), and working closely with WAC’s creative team to produce engaging and high performing campaigns. This role will draw upon their extensive knowledge of Alaska and the WAC brand to effectively represent both on all social media platforms.
The Social Media Manager will play a key role on the Wild Alaskan Marketing team, reporting to the VP of Marketing.
Core Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive organic social media strategy to support business goals while representing and contextualizing the brand across all social media channels.
- Plan and execute organic social media campaigns across existing and new channels including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Twitter, as well as our private online Facebook group, What’s Cooking Tonight?.
- Utilize keyword research for organic social media channels where appropriate.
- Work with the rest of the marketing team to support omni-channel campaigns, promotions and product launches.
- Work with Wild Alaskan Company’s creative team to deliver high-performing content.
- Work closely with Social Media Response Specialists on the Member Experience team on best practices for social moderation and community management.
- Monitor performance of all organic social media efforts to continuously improve the overall strategy. Compile and present weekly KPIs.
- Identify new opportunities to engage with new or existing communities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in the industry.
- 4+ years working in social media marketing
- Proven track record of leveraging organic social media to grow business metrics
- A deep understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Twitter, and understand best practices of each
- Experience taking one piece of content and distributing micro-content optimized for each channel
- Experience writing briefs and working closely with internal and/or external creative teams/ agencies to produce social assets/ creative
- Experience doing keyword research for organic social media channels
- Prior work experience in Alaska and/or the Alaskan seafood industry
- Knowledge of sustainability, specifically sustainable food systems
- Ability and motivation to measure the socials media’s contribution to business goals
- Confident knowledge of social media scheduling tools – Hootsuite, AgoraPulse, Sprout Social or similar
- Excellent written communication and relationship building skills
- A high attention to detail and organization
- Creative, innovative and eager to work in a team with a scrappy mindset
- Proficient in Google Docs and Sheets
- Familiar with the latest ecommerce and social media trends
- Experience at in a high-growth, start-up environment
- Proficiency in Google analytics, Looker or other data analytics tools
- Experience using Asana or another project management software
- Site traffic from organic social
- Leads from organic social
- Conversions from organic social including new and existing members
The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
