Software Design Engineer 3

Job Summary: Software Engineer responsible for coordinating development activities between customer requirements software development Scrum and Kanban teams that are developing a U.S. Navy HLA simulation protocol adapter and filter process. This position is located in a customer site development environment. Government facility availability may require hybrid customer site / remote work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support creation and management of epics, stories, and tasks captured in tracking tools to coordinate the activities for development.
• Experience with Scrum agile and Kanban development.
• Coordinate with customer stakeholders.
• Support integration and test activities locally and at site.
• Software is developed in C++, bash, and python environment.

Required Education/Experience:

• Experience with Atlassian Jira tool.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. 5 years minimum professional experience. Associate degree with experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree will be considered.
• Must have experience working both independently and as a member of a software development team.

Desired Experience:

• Simulation protocols including but not limited to DIS, HLA, TENA.
• Cross Domain Guard or Controlled Interface MLS architecture solutions.
• Strong documentation and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with Git source control.
