On the Flights team, we craft the foundation of global travel. We handle thousands of customer queries per second, while optimizing across dimensions of speed, fit, price, and more. What you'll do:

• Design and develop efficient, scalable, and robust software to meet business requirements
• Create unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure code correctness, and load tests to verify software performance
• Use AWS tools and internal CI/CD systems to coordinate deployments of distributed microservices
• Provide visibility into functional and operational performance of applications, through precise logging and monitoring
• Embrace software principles and standards to maximize maintainability and clarity for others
• Work within a team to define tasks, balance responsibilities, and deliver results
• Communicate with stakeholders, SMEs, and the broader tech community to gather requirements, formulate solutions, share insights, and collect feedback
• Take ownership of substantial work items, guide other contributors, and drive to completion
• Mentor junior peers and seek coaching from experienced peers

Who you are:

• 3+ years of leading or contributing to broad-scope, back-end or full-stack development projects within a large software architecture
• Well-versed in the principles and common practices of OOP, REST, microservice architectures, CI/CD, debugging, agile
• Proficiency in the following technologies or similar: Java, Spring, JSON, Protobuf, XML, Redis, Elasticsearch, Docker, Gradle, Git, various AWS technologies and services
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a software related field, or equivalent related professional experience

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $97,000.00 to $135,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $155,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
