The Developer Experience team is at the core foundation of how we build leading-edge software solutions at Flexe. The purpose of this team is to build platform tools, standardize processes and evolve infrastructure that enables software developers to do their day-to-day tasks effectively. It is an ecosystem that centers around software developers and aims to positively influence developer productivity, quality of life and operational impact. To support the rapid growth at Flexe, we jump into any space where we can help improve the overall effectiveness of software development. This could range from building the right security infrastructure, standardizing APIs or evolving our mobile infrastructure.
As a Software Development Engineer II on the Developer Experience team, you will be responsible for:
- Evolve the technology that is at the heart of our business. You are responsible for architecting and implementing systems that impact our customers directly.
- Facilitate personal and team growth. You will work with leadership to establish goals for your own individual growth. You will also collaborate with, mentor, and support other engineers directly contributing to scaling out the organization.
- Delivering value from conception to release. You will work closely with engineering teams, infrastructure teams and other stakeholders to design, implement, and deliver large-scale technical projects.
- Value a healthy and productive culture. You will work in an environment that values ambitious but sustainable growth. We encourage design and investment in resilient systems in order to minimize support burden.
- 3+ years of professional Software Development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience with building systems using Service Oriented Architecture or Microservice design patterns.
- Experience with GitLab, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, scripting and markup languages such as Python and YAML.
- Our tech stack is Ruby on Rails and Kotlin. However, we will train the right person who has experience in one or more of the following modern languages: Java, Golang, C#, Python, etc.
- Experience with designing reliable cloud-based systems at scale.
- A history of team-oriented development and a drive to continuously learn.
The salary range for this role is $155,700 to $181,700 depending, in part, on candidate location. Recruiting will confirm the specific range for the candidate location in the initial phone screen. All employees receive company equity as part of their compensation package. As part of our pay for performance based pay program, this role is eligible to potentially receive merit bonuses of up to 15% of base salary for exceeding expectations.
