ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Software Development Engineer, you will have exposure to a vast range of components ranging from our customer-facing web application using open-source frameworks, to highly available RESTful services. Your experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: node.js React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, HTML / HTML5, CSS, NoSQL databases, relational databases, Terraform, and Azure Cloud Infrastructure, will add great value to the team.

Having extensive knowledge of programming languages and the software development life cycle is essential for success in this position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Contribute to code releases and production deployments, and fix bugs and defects rapidly and effectively.
• Design, develop, and test software applications in an agile environment.
• Take part in programming activities, monitoring, and evaluating system performance.
• Design and implement new application features.
• Develop automated solutions that work with a high degree of reliability and meet deadlines.
• Maintain, support, and enhance existing systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with Engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
• Configure and manage Cloud monitoring, logging, and set up alerts.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs, databases, protocols, cloud, and data formats.
• Collaborate and review code with other Developers to ensure technical standards are met.
• Work with Business Systems Analysts and the Chief Architect to ensure that the intersecting data and business processes within the Enterprise Applications ecosystem are efficient and high-quality.
• Create documentation for solutions and processes that have been implemented or updated to ensure proper interpretation by team members and/or stakeholders.
• Build and maintain integrations connecting the application ecosystem with the product and cloud systems.
• Develop and support our ETL environment by providing recommendation on improvements, as well as monitor and deploy quality and validation processes accurately with an emphasis on data integrity.
• Logically and physically design databases, table creation, script creation, views, procedures, packages, and other database objects.
• Design and implement processes and process improvements to help develop technology solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND INTERESTS:

• 3+ years of overall software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience deploying software in virtual or cloud environments.
• 3+ years of experience with development technologies such as TypeScript, React, NodeJS, GraphQL.
• 3+ years of experience with data platforms such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch and RobbitMQ.
• Expertise with Azure cloud technologies such as Function, Data Factory, Front Door, Application Gateway, Terraform, Kubernetes, Key Vault and Velero.
• Experience working with API management (i.e., Apigee, Postman, Swagger).
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with applications/tools to capture, manage and communicate business and technical requirements (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to research, troubleshoot, and logically determine solutions.
