With ID.me, login and identity credentials move with people, which can reduce the time and frustration of having to verify at multiple sites and set up multiple passwords.

The company offers multiple pathways to verification – online self-serve, live video chat agents, and in person. Role Overview

ID.me is seeking a Software Development Engineer V (Frontend) to join our Marketplaces team. This person will establish best practices and lead defining and developing a modern frontend architecture that serves users across desktop/mobile web and native applications. 

Marketplaces is both one of the fastest growing teams and software domains at ID.me, and this role will have the opportunity to drive the future of products like ID.me Shop and the ID.me Homepage experience - both of which see millions of users.

Responsibilities
  • 8+ years of frontend development experience
  • 4+ years of proven experience with modern frontend technologies (React, Vue, Stimulus, Turbo, Hotwire, etc.)
  • Mastery of web technologies, object oriented design, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+), REST based APIs, and Git
  • Repeated demonstration of shipping features end to end from product conception, design collaboration, coding, release, monitoring, documentation, and support.
  • Experience driving best practices and implementation for efficient and reliable automated test coverage (e.g. Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, AVA)
  • Understanding of the end to end build process and asset pipeline for owned applications and experience building systems and services in a containerized, cloud based, infrastructure as code driven ecosystem
  • Experience deploying features using A|B testing strategies, ability to identify and track the correct metrics for experiments, and ability to interpret the results of experiments in progress
  • Proven track record of modernizing a legacy front end system, including the ability to effectively switch gears between maintaining old code and writing new/modern features
  • Ability to create, obtain alignment, and drive implementation of technical plans for large scale features including identifying options and tradeoffs to assist in decision making process
  • Experience writing and maintaining accessible web applications (WCAG 2.1, Section 508)
  • Must have strong leadership and mentorship abilities with exceptional oral and written communication skills, and a self-managing work ethic
  • Ability to drive a holistic vision for frontend architecture
  • Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Proactively seek out efficiency opportunities, and propose and implement solutions that will enable the entire team to iterate faster
  • BS in a quantitative or scientific field such as computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience preferred
  • Nice to have qualifications:
    • Startup experience
    • Experience working with Ruby on Rails
    • Experience building browser extensions
    • Experience building hybrid mobile applications
  • Must be located in the continental U.S. and work core EST or CST hours

ID.me Covid Vaccination Requirement

ID.me has a mandatory vaccination requirement where not prohibited by applicable federal or state law.
