The Spectacles team is pushing the boundaries of technology to bring people closer together in the real world. Our fifth-generation Spectacles powered by Snap OS showcases how standalone see-through AR glasses make playing learning and working better together.

We’re looking for an AI-focused C++ software engineer with a passion for AR to join the Spectacles team in New York NY!

What you’ll do:

  • Work on the bleeding age of AI tooling making AI tools work for AR application development

  • Build agentic workflows for Lens Studio our IDE for creating AR experiences

  • Create developer-facing APIs and tools that enable teams to build applications on Spectacles

  • Implement and maintain software running on AR glasses in a compute-constrained environment

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Passion and interest in the latest AI productivity / coding tools

  • Strong knowledge of C++ and API design

  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels of a company

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience

  • 2+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 1+ year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field

  • Proficiency in programming C and C++ on Linux-based platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AI agents models MCP servers and orchestrators

  • Experience writing developer facing APIs

  • Experience building IDEs and developer tooling

Compensation

In the United States work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA WA NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $157000-$235000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $149000-$223000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $133000-$200000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
