Software Engineer, Full-Stack (Remote)

Full Tech Stack: Node.js, React, Redux, Javascript/Typescript, Cypress.js, data fetching from GraphQL or REST API's

What Will You Be Doing?

Fictiv's CompGeo team is responsible for automated analysis of customer CAD models and design drawings and for determining pricing as well as lead time to manufacture those parts to the customer's specifications. In this role, you will work as key contributor to the Quoting & Pricing program and help to accelerate Fictiv's development of algorithms and tools for pricing and quoting parts.

We team with experts in manufacturing quoting and fulfillment. Working alongside this team, you will help expanding Fictiv’s manufacturing service to more geographic regions. Additionally, you will assist in expanding the variety of lead time and pricing options we offer, as well as expanding the number of services we offer. This role will improve the quality of work life and efficiency of our internal manual quoting experts and additionally serve in the following area(s): 

• Perform backend server software development in support of quoting and pricing algorithms and services
  Run pricing algorithm changes against historical data and reporting expected impact to overall pricing, costs, and margins.
  Perform frontend software development of internal quoting and part inspection web pages, and components of customer-facing pages.
• Build secure, scalable, and performant web applications with modular, well-structured components
• Collaborate with your team to deliver high quality solutions in a timely manner
• Ensure quality of your code through unit tests and end-to-end tests
• Troubleshoot production issues and create lasting fixes
• Exhibit a desire to being mentored regarding best practices for software development

Desired Traits

• Proven experience (3+yrs) as software engineer on agile teams, shipping web software to end users
• Proficient building performant, scalable, web applications
• Proficiency in building backend APIs and integrations
• Proficiency in a frontend framework
• Fluent in JavaScript / TypeScript in the browser and the server
• Understanding of querying/developing/versioning/maintaining RESTor GraphQL APIs
• Willingness to contribute to end-to-end tests (we use Cypress.js)
• Strong grounding in Web-application security
• Experience with event systems such as queues, iPaaS, event buses
