What you will work on:
Nike Digital Engineering is an exciting place, and our team plays the role of building mission critical data pipelines that connect Nike Retail, Nike.com, Nike App and Partners stores worldwide with our Enterprize systems, 24/7.

Does the idea of working on an engineering team that supports a global network of retail stores sound like your kind of challenge? If so, come join the Retail Orchestration Platform team! We support Nike's Retail Engineering teams by building and supporting a platform that transmits and transforms events between them, retail outlets and our business partners.

Our production code is primarily written for the JVM using Java, and deployed on Amazon's AWS infrastructure. We use EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS and S3 among other AWS services. We also make extensive use of a Kafka based platform. Our architecture is focused on reliability, resilience and performance.

We approach software using a DevOps model, following industry best practices like Continuous Integration and Observability. We collaborate within our team to help each other learn and grow, encouraging frequent demos, knowledge sharing and mentoring. We also foster relationships with other teams within our ecosystem to drive our shared technology goals.
Who we are looking for:

• Successfully operate within our engineering environment and help it evolve.
• Review their peers' technical designs, code, and tests, give actionable and supportive feedback and ask good questions.
• Work in a collaborative environment that rewards experiments, initiative, curiosity, and mentoring.
• Practice DevOps ensuring a culture of testing and releasing software on AWS continuously using automation and monitoring.
• Partner with other engineering and product teams to loosely couple and scale the service ecosystem.
• Work with teams dedicated to content management, membership, notification delivery, and digital marketing.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant subject area; or combination of education and experience and training.
• You love to learn, grow, and effectively bring new ideas into the group.
• You're committed to the craft of software engineering and are eager to collaborate in taking Nike's services and applications to the next level.
• You value collaboration and interaction with your teammates and colleagues, default to sharing early and look for help when needed over delivering perfect results.

Preferred skills:

• 2-3 years software development experience designing, developing, and testing complex solutions and code in Web technologies such as .NET, Node.js & React or Java.
• Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment (e.g., Amazon EC2, GCE, and Azure)
• Experience designing and implementing web services.
• Experience with microservice architectures, domain-driven design, and RESTful Services using the team's language of choice.
• Experience working with different database solutions.oKnowledge of SQL and data stores such as SQL Server, MySQL or AWS RDS.oNoSQL data stores like DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
• Experience with continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests. Continuous delivery experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Commitment to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with business and technical teams

Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.
