Software Engineer, Surfaces

As part of the Surfaces Team at Vercel, you'll be responsible for many areas of the Vercel UI, including the project dashboard, deployments tab, team settings pages, project import flow, and Preview Comments. In this role, you will oversee the development and implementation of front and back-end software applications! Your responsibilities will extend from designing system architecture to high-level programming, performance testing and monitoring, and system integration.

• Meet with the development team to define the scope and scale of projects.
• Design and implement scalable applications, web services, and APIs.
• Develop and maintain internal software tools.
• Investigate and improve upon performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in a rotating on-call incident response team.
• Collaborate with design on developing user interfaces.
• Report into the Engineering Manager for the Surfaces team.

• You have at least 4+ years of relevant experience.
• You're comfortable in TypeScript on both the front and backend.
• You're meticulous both about the quality of your code and unblocking your teammates.
• You're experienced with React.js.
• Because the team operates with a broad area of ownership, comfortability working in the unknown is a must.
• Nice to have: experience with Next.js and the Vercel platform.

The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $180,000 - $230,000. This salary range is an estimate, and actual salary may vary based on the company's compensation practices, location, and candidate experience. The total compensation package may also include benefits and equity-based compensation.
