Software Engineering Intern - Boston, MA
Rapid7 is seeking curious, resourceful, and motivated software engineering interns to support our internal IT team. Rapid7's Information Technology team is responsible for implementing and automating processes for all of our business applications. The work we do helps to drive efficiency and free Rapid7's team's time to apply their knowledge to our customer challenges & opportunities.
About the Role
As a Software Engineering intern on the IT Team, the work is constantly evolving. You will have the opportunity to be part of a community that is excited about cybersecurity and making an impact on the global technology ecosystem.
Depending on which team within IT you are supporting, you can expect to use tools such as Workato for systems integration, AWS for cloud provider, Snowflake, MySQL, Python, Ruby, Javascript and Go.
In this role, you will:

• Work with members of the team to build, deploy and maintain code at scale
• Deliver new product features
• Collaborate with other team members on bringing innovative solutions that solve our internal customer's most challenging problems
• Work with internal customers to get and iterate on feedback of proof of concepts
• Assist with coding and enhancements for our internal infrastructure & applications
• Use an agile framework to incorporate stakeholder feedback to meet and exceed expectations

The skills you'll bring include:

• Excellent technical, communication and relationship skills, along with IT and business savvy
• Experience or interest in coordinating projects that involve vendors, stakeholders, and end users
• Proficient with at least one coding language, including but not limited to: Java, Python, Ruby, Javascript, Go

Nice to haves:

• Proficiency with one or more relational and non-relational databases
• Experience with building REST APIs
• Experience with one or more cloud providers: AWS, GCP, Azure
• Experience with one or more scripting languages
• Basic understanding of integration applications like OKTA, Mulesoft, Workato
• The ability to work directly with stakeholders to define and deliver on key objectives
