Software Engineering Manager

We are looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager to be a hands-on servant leader for our growing engineering teams. Reporting directly to VP of engineering, you will be working with multiple distributed scrum teams, supporting several web and mobile app projects.

You will...

• Play a critical role in leading and managing software development to ensure timely delivery for your engineering teams.
• Be the go-to technical resource for your teams, facilitating technical discussions on software architecture, code reviews, CI/CD, code refactoring, testing, and other technical topics.
• Lead and mentor engineers through daily coaching, regular 1:1s, and provide guidance on their career growth
• Fostering a strong engineering culture and promoting the adoption of best engineering practices
• Actively contributing to the growing the engineering team through networking, recruiting, interviewing, and effectively onboarding new engineers
• Develop and maintain a metrics-reporting strategy to provide organization with insights into the overall health and performance of your teams
• Observing, communicating, and proactively resolving team impediments will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations.
• Working closely with engineers and Product Owners to align teams with the product vision and encourage the adoption of engineering best practices.
• Embrace the concept of continuous learning in your own journey and instill the same in the teams you manage and lead.

You have…

• At least two years of experience as an engineering manager.
• Extensive experiences in Golang/MySQL and/or React Native or relevant technology.
• Thorough technical understanding of full-stack web and/or mobile development lifecycle and associated challenges
• Extensive experience working with at least one of the three main cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Significant experience leading initiatives on software architecture, scalability, code reviews, CI/CD, code refactoring, tech debt mitigation,  and testing strategies
• Deep experience coaching engineers on both technical and non-technical aspects of software development and delivery
• Thorough experience managing & scaling remote teams -- recruiting, interviews, onboarding, building, and fostering engineering culture
• A proven track record of implementing measurable results through continuous improvement of engineering tools and processes
• Strong ability to influence and mentor engineers to enhance their understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent project management, prioritization, time management, and communication skills
