WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As an Engineering Manager for the Planning team, you will be part of a highly visible Engineering team passionate about aligning strategic objectives with tactical demands! You will lead a platform that manages the common data products and services of all the planning domain.

This is a key capability central to Nike's consumer-direct acceleration strategy! This Engineering Manager role will play a critical role across the enterprise Planning as we reset our technical strategy and as we engage with other tech leaders to accelerate the technology and Digital roadmaps.

You will influence the end-to-end strategy across technology and partner closely with a shared Enterprise Architecture, Data and Analytics group. You will partner with Platform peers and Business Leaders to craft the digital systems of the future.

You will guide the team within a matrixed environment to continually improve upon its ability to deliver fast, reliable, at a global scale, with security, and to the delight of our customers.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Set the direction in building scalable data products and services.
  • Build technical vision and strategy and translate those into tangible milestone-based plans in partnership with Product Management Organization.
  • Accountable for the technical direction of the group, using technical experts, and fostering technical innovation.
  • Lead engineering teams as we continue to scale, and build a high-performance, elite engineering organization.
  • Partner with leadership to develop a technology strategy that enables our platform.
  • Transform (build/buy/recommend) our technology stack that orchestrates customer engagement journeys with an eye toward optimizing Margins and supporting Nike's revenue growth.
  • Be an advocate for our data consistency, health, and observability.
  • Recruit and retain strong engineering talents that represent the diversity of our audience, with clear and consistent hiring strategies.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

  • Works closely with Planning & Manufacturing leadership to develop Engineering vision, strategy, and execution plans that are aligned with business outcomes
  • Partners with Enterprise Architecture and Strategic Enterprise Capability to develop a sustainable roadmap for Engineering capability
  • Partners with Technical Product Management and Business Product Management to ensure outcomes are aligned with business expectations
  • Partners with Engineering Directors and other Engineering Managers to build an effective team and partnership with partners

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development, solution deployment, and testing with a focus on any of the enterprise planning solutions.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in enterprise technology solutions including end-to-end Business Blueprinting, development, testing, support, and post-implementation tech solution refinement.
  • 2+ years' working as a technical solution lead in a sophisticated matrix organization within a global IT environment with a diverse and complex landscape.
  • 2+ years' mentoring, coaching, and supporting 4 or more developers concurrently (preferred)
  • Prior experience in data technologies like PySpark, EMR, Snowflake, Airflow, Databricks.
  • Excellent understanding of business processes in Integrated Enterprise Planning - preferably in Retail, Supply Chain, and/or Financial Planning.
  • Team mentoring, team coordination, and team guidance on functional deliverables and tech provider interactions, to help the team to complete developments and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience in implementing enterprise solutions on cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience in working with 3rd party integration tools like NiFi, Kafka, etc.
  • Strong data profiling and analysis experience using SQL.
  • Exceptional collaboration, listening, and written and verbal communication skills, including abilities to collaborate with both business and technical audiences.
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
