Aerospace's Software Engineering Subdivision plays a key role in helping our customer realize and transition industry-leading solutions by delivering software development prototypes, cloud-based solutions, and methodologies for our civilian, DoD, and intelligence community partners.
We are seeking a Retiree Casual for the Software Implementation and Integration Department who will work directly with our internal and external customers to integrate diverse Aerospace knowledge and leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$122,952.34 - $202,011.37 - $281,070.40
Pay Basis: Hourly

We are seeking a Retiree Casual for the Software Implementation and Integration Department who will work directly with our internal and external customers to integrate diverse Aerospace knowledge and leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting a wide variety of customers from government to commercial sectors by providing expertise in software development and rapid prototyping and assisting customers in applying these techniques toward mission success
- Providing software development expertise to support the use of modern development best practices and competences such as Agile, Scaled Agile Framework, and/or DevSecOps
- Participating in engineering studies across the software development lifecycle.
- Supporting software solutions through proof-of-concept development and minimum viable products
- Serving as a technical lead for software development and/or review teams
- Providing independent assessment of software development efforts, either solely or as part of a team
- Providing overall direction to department's technical programs and ensuring department's capabilities are effectively applied to needs of customers programs
- Mentoring staff in their career progression and software development competences
- Identifying roadblocks and modifying existing approaches to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution
- Strong experience in project management
- Experience in software development and experience as a technical lead
- Familiarity in satellite ground software and the satellite software architecture
- Ability to form and lead technical analysis teams and projects
- Familiarity with National Security Space, Department of Defense space programs, civil space systems, commercial space systems or advanced space technologies
- Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers
- Track record demonstrating the ability to build an environment of teamwork and develop/grow an organization by providing consistent mentoring, coaching, and training opportunities
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interactions at all organizational levels
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government
How You Can Stand Out

- Experience in multiple areas associated with National Security Space systems, Department of Defense, civil, commercial space systems, and advanced space technologies
- Experience with satellite ground systems, operations, and launch
- Experience with the software development methodologies and cloud frameworks at the enterprise level
- Experience with and understanding of Aerospace and customer business processes
- Experience working with The Aerospace Corporation's engineering matrix
- Proven commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
- Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
