Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliableSolar Inspection Coordinatorto represent our company during municipal and utility inspections for residential solar and battery installations. This person will serve as the final quality checkpoint, ensuring each project is ready for inspection, code-compliant, and built to spec.
Your primary role will be to attend inspections, communicate with inspectors, and proactively address any issues that may arise to secure a pass on the first visit. You’ll be the liaison between our install crews, electricians, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), and the internal operations team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Attend scheduled inspections on-site with city or utility inspectors anywhere in North CA (PG&E territory)
• Review installations prior to inspection and ensure everything is code-compliant
• Perform quality checks on solar panel placement, conduit, wire runs, grounding, labeling, battery system setup, and main panel upgrades
• Coordinate with installers and electricians to fix punch-list items in real time, when needed
• Document inspection outcomes and escalate issues immediately to internal teams
• Maintain relationships with local inspectors and stay informed on evolving code requirements and AHJ standards
• Ensure documentation is complete for final inspection closeout, including photos and reports
• Identify trends in failed inspections and provide feedback to improve install processes
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Electrical experience required— must be able to identify NEC-compliant installations
• Solar system installation experience strongly preferred
• Hands-on knowledge ofbattery backup systems(Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, etc.)
• Familiarity withbuilding codes, electrical codes, and permitting processes
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills — must be proactive on-site
• Comfortable working in the field at multiple locations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Certifications (not mandatory but a plus):
• NABCEP Certification
• Journeyman Electrician License
• OSHA 10/30 Certification
Job Location:You should have your own vehicle with a valid driver's license. Company will reimburse for fuel. Hourly wage is $20/hr for sitting inspections.
